NRG Oncology Board of Directors Member, Dr. Jeff Michalski, Named ASTRO President-elect

Jeff M. Michalski, MD, MBA, FASTRO, a member of the NRG Oncology Board of Directors and the Chair of the NRG Oncology Radiation Committee, was appointed President-elect of the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO). Dr. Michalski has already set goals to reach more diverse populations and find options to secure patient access to potentially life-saving cancer treatment, to grow and build upon ASTRO’s infrastructure to include a wide network of radiation oncology clinicians and researchers, and additionally to advance the Society’s programs and policies to best situate the research community for success as it moves towards future innovations and pathways.

Dr. Jeff Michalski is a nationally recognized expert of genitourinary cancers, pediatric cancers, and cancer survivorship. In addition to his positions within the NRG Board of Directors and Radiation Oncology Committee, Dr. Michalski is a member of the NRG Oncology Genitourinary Cancer Core Committee and serves as Co-Chair on the National Cancer Institute’s (NCI) Genitourinary Cancers Steering Committee and serves as the NRG Oncology representative on the NCI Clinical Imaging Steering Committee. He has been involved in several NRG Oncology trials and publications and is currently the Carlos Perez Distinguished Professor and Vice Chair of Radiation Oncology at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.
