September 14 2021

Written by the PSC Quality Control and Communication Working Group

Background:
Radiation therapy credentialing is done to ensure participating institutions & staff are competent to meet the protocol requirements to deliver the highest quality of care to patients possible. Questionnaires and test cases are required as part of the credentialing process. There are several educational resources available to learn about credentialing, but the purpose of this document is to provide an educational tool that summarizes the general steps for how to get started with the RT Credentialing process.

As you’ll see in the tables below, the steps are divided into two different sections. The first section reviews the general steps for establishing an institution’s facility capabilities credentialing. Section two addresses the general steps for how to credential for specific protocols.
