Priorities for the travel awards include NCORP investigators and NCORP clinical research staff who are actively engaged in NRG NCORP studies. The amount of each award will be up to $1,000 to defray the costs of attending the meeting such as coach airfare, transportation to/from the hotel, meals and two hotel nights.

NRG Early Career & New Investigators Travel Award

NRG Oncology seeks to support participation of early career and new investigators through the provision of a travel award. Current priorities for this travel award include members of the New Investigators Committee and new/young investigators who are actively engaged with NRG Oncology committees or research. The award will support up to $1,500 in meeting related expenses such as coach airfare, transportation to/from the hotel, meals, and two hotel nights.

Machtay Young Investigators Travel Award

In 2019, NRG Oncology received a generous gift from Mitchell Machtay, MD, Deputy Group Chair for Research and Chief Scientific Officer. This important and generous gift supplements the existing NRG Travel Award Program, funding the travel of one young investigator from an NRG Member Institution to the NRG Oncology semiannual meeting.  A longtime member of RTOG Foundation and Deputy Group Chair for NRG Oncology since its inception, Dr. Machtay has been a staunch advocate for young investigators and for NRG overall. The award will support up to $1,500 in meeting related expenses such as coach airfare, transportation to/from the hotel, meals, and two hotel nights.
