Websites & Programs

National Medical Association Cobb Scholars Program
The W. Montague Cobb/National Medical Association (NMA) Health Institute (The Cobb Institute), a 501(c)(3) in Washington, DC, functions as a national consortium of scholars that engages in innovative research and knowledge dissemination for the reduction and elimination of racial and ethnic health disparities and racism in medicine. Solving one of our society’s most pressing problems, racial inequities in health, requires the collaborative work of public agencies, private entities, academic medical centers, and -- equally important -- communities.

Enhancing Minority Participation in Clinical Trials (EMPaCT)
EMPaCT's mission is to "increase recruitment and retention of racial/ethnic minorities into therapeutic clinical trials with the ultimate goal of reducing cancer-related health disparities." EMPaCT created resources such as Training Courses, Resource Reviews and Training Videos. (10/2020)

AACR Cancer Disparities Progress Report (2022)

Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER)
The SEER Program provides information on cancer statistics in an effort to reduce the cancer burden among the U.S. population. SEER is supported by the Surveillance Research Program (SRP) in NCI's Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences (DCCPS).

Office of Minority Health (OMH)
(Resource Center, free online education, policy & data)

OMH is a source for minority health literature, research, and referrals for consumers, community organizations and health professionals. Office of Minority Health Resource Center (OMHRC) also offers capacity building and technical assistance services designed to increase the strength and competence of health care agencies and programs.

NCI Center to Reduce Cancer Health Disparities (CRCHD) (cancer health disparities resources, diversity training and research with funding opportunities)
The Center to Reduce Cancer Health Disparities (CRCHD) is central to NCI’s efforts to reduce the unequal burden of cancer in our society via basic and community research, as well as networks, and to train the next generation of competitive researchers from diverse populations in cancer and cancer health disparities research. CDC Health Disparities & Inequalities Report (CHDIR)
CDC and its partners work to identify and address the factors that lead to health disparities among racial, ethnic, geographic, socioeconomic, and other groups so that barriers to health equity can be removed. Providing accurate, useful data on the causes of illness and death in the United States and across the world is a foundation of CDC's mission and work. (10/2020)
