We are happy to introduce Cheryl Leow (she/her), who recently joined the NRG Oncology Pittsburgh Operations Center team as the NRG-CC005/FORTE Education and Communication Specialist. She has long-standing interest in partnering with study teams across multiple fields to improve the conduct of research activities, from increasing participant enrollment to engaging with clinical sites and community partners. Prior to joining the FORTE team, Cheryl served as the primary research coordinator for a PCORI-funded, behavioral health clinical trial for Sickle Cell disease. In this role, she managed participant recruitment and retention, coordinating clinic and virtual enrollment across several sites. With the FORTE study, Cheryl is excited to explore innovative methods of bringing awareness of clinical research to both providers and the wider public.
Cheryl has earned degrees from the University of Virginia (Go ‘Hoos!). She is an avid knitter and loves spending time with her spouse and two cats (Zabrina and Zelda). “I am excited to collaborate with the FORTE team and the entire NRG site network to bring this trial to patients and providers alike. If you are attending the NRG Semiannual meeting in Chicago, stop by a FORTE session and introduce yourself!”
Cheryl can be reached with questions and suggestions about study promotion at: leowc@nrgoncology.org
