NRG Oncology Seeks Applicants for the Veterans Affairs/Military Treatment Facility Subcommittee Vice Chair Position

June 12 2025

Submission Deadline: Monday, July 14, 2025

NRG Oncology is seeking a dynamic individual who will bring outstanding leadership skills, and a collaborative team spirit, interested in assisting the Chair with leading the Veterans Affairs/Military Treatment Facility (VA/MTF) Subcommittee. This subcommittee is part of the NRG Oncology Membership Committee and seeks to support the success of the VA and MTF facilities in their participation within NRG Oncology and across both the National Clinical Trials Network (NCTN) and the National Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP).

The VA/MTF Subcommittee serves as a forum aimed at identifying and addressing specific barriers to NCTN and or NCORP trial participation faced by NRG VA/MTF member sites. By fostering collaboration and understanding, the subcommittee supports the engagement of these communities, working to overcome specific regulatory, administrative, and logistical challenges that may impede their involvement in research accrual.

NRG Oncology Committee Vice Chairs must be from an active NRG Oncology Member Institution and eligible to receive federal funding. Nominal funds from federal grants to offset related travel to NRG Oncology meetings are provided.

Applicants from the VA or MTF community are encouraged to apply by submitting a letter of interest and an NIH biosketch to committee-nominations@nrgoncology.org. Applicants are not required to have a full-time VA appointment but should have a substantive level of effort devoted to VA responsibilities. The letter of interest should describe participation in NRG Oncology to date and describe the applicant’s thoughts on VA/MTF engagement in NRG Oncology. In addition, candidates are required to have either completed the NRG Oncology Member Information Form or have formally elected to opt-out. Information about the form is posted on the NRG Oncology website at https://www.nrgoncology.org/NRG-Member-Info. The deadline for application submission is July 14, 2025.

Questions related to this may be submitted to committee-nominations@nrgoncology.org
