Help improve cancer clinical trials and improve the lives of cancer patients by becoming apatient advocate. NRG Oncology is one of the largest cancer research cooperative groups in North America under the National Cancer Institute. NRG’s Patient Advocate Committee (PAC) seeks an individual to serve as the patient advocate representative for NRG’s Patient CenteredOutcomes Research (PCOR) Committee.
Additionally, the NRG Oncology PAC is seeking another individual to serve as the patient advocate representative for NRG's Ovarian Cancer Subcommittee. This position comes with core membership on thePAC.

The primary role of general members is toprovide the “voice” of the patient. Patient advocates infuse the patient perspective throughoutthe development and implementation of clinical trials. Patient Advocates Requirements
NRG Patient Advocates should meet the following qualifications:
- Be a cancer survivor, caregiver, and/or leader within a related advocacy organization, orpossess other meaningful experience with clinical trials.
- Have a strong and active connection to the broader patient community to help supportoutreach efforts beyond the scope of NRG.
- Demonstrate a foundational understanding of the committee research or disease area towhich they are assigned.
- Be able to commit to attending NRG meetings, including:
- In-person participation at the NRG semiannual meetings (twice per year),including both the Patient Advocate Committee (PAC) and Patient-CenteredOutcomes Research (PCOR) sessions.
- Participation in two interim PAC teleconferences (via Zoom) annually.
- Uphold NRG’s ethical standards and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Capable of representing the patient community’s views as opposed to personalperspective.
- Commitment to membership for a minimum of two years.
