NRG Oncology seeks to fill the position of Chair of the Investigator & Career Development (ICD) Committee.

01/13/2026

The Investigator & Career Development (ICD) Committee, one of NRG Oncology’s Administrative Committees, is dedicated to fostering investigator growth and engagement within NRG. The committee provides mentorship, education, and opportunities to support the advancement of investigators, ensuring access to resources and professional development within NRG. Through its Early Career Mentorship and Investigator Development subcommittees, the ICD Committee facilitates mentorship for early-career investigators and promotes broader investigator participation in leadership, research, and clinical trial development. The Chair will oversee the two subcommittees and work closely with committee members to guide initiatives that strengthen investigator engagement and career development. Key responsibilities include:

• Overseeing structured mentorship programs for early-career investigators.
• Supporting investigator development by identifying opportunities for engagement within NRG committees and protocol teams.
• Ensuring accessibility to leadership opportunities and research roles through training and structured support mechanisms.
• Developing and refining educational resources that support investigators in protocol development, statistical considerations, and translational research integration.
• Assessing and tracking investigator participation and progress to improve engagement strategies.
• Fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and well-structured committee environment.
• Engaging across NRG Oncology; liaising with other committee chairs, participating in NRG Oncology meetings by attending both in-person semiannual meetings and interim virtual meetings, keeping NRG Oncology Group Chairs informed of trends, changes, or concerns of note.
• Delegating effectively; reassigning duties where necessary to meet timelines or deadlines.
• Ensuring Committee members are appointed on a regular basis and remain engaged with the Committee.
• Collaborating with NRG Oncology leadership and members to write and edit scientific grants to support NRG Oncology research activities, including the NRG Oncology core grant, when applicable.
• Supporting the conduct of activities that are compliant with regulations, NRG Policies and Procedures, and practices that ensure potential conflicts are disclosed and managed.
• Serving as an advocate for NRG Oncology in all affairs.

NRG Oncology Committee Chairs must be at an NRG Oncology Member Institution and eligible to receive federal funding. Nominal funds from federal grants to offset related effort and travel to NRG Oncology meetings are provided. Committee Chairs are appointed by the NRG Oncology Group Chairs for a six-year term, renewable once.
