ACR Commission on Radiation Oncology Education Committee

The American College of Radiology (ACR) Commission on Radiation Oncology Education Committee is looking for new members and accepts members at any level of their career (including trainees (residents/fellows) and attending physicians. The ACR Commission on Radiation Oncology Education Committee consists of radiation oncologists, physicists, and radiation biologists. and works in conjunction with the Council of Affiliated Regional Radiation Oncology Societies (CARROS).

Responsibilities of the committee include organizing quarterly webinars which incorporate high level topics relevant to radiation oncology, the ACR, with a multidisciplinary approach including other specialties including radiology, nuclear medicine, physics, medical oncology, and surgery. The committee is also responsible for organizing the radiation oncology session at the annual ACR meeting held in Washington DC. Additionally, the committee is responsible for helping with Case in Point which incorporates case-based imaging to educate clinicians on treatment approaches, post-treatment monitoring, and monitoring/treatment of adverse events related to radiation therapy.

There are a number of leadership opportunities and academic growth within the committee including opportunities to lead webinars, publication with Case in Point and with the Journal of the American College of Radiology (JACR), and opportunities to moderate the radiation oncology session at the annual ACR meeting.
