Medical Writing Groups Publish Joint Position Statement on Predatory Publishing
Barbara Good, PhD, Editor in publications for NRG Oncology, served as one of the writers of a Joint Position Statement on Predatory Publishing that appeared in Current Medical Research and Opinion on July 29, 2019. The American Medical Writers Association, the European Medical Writers Association, and the International Society for Medical Publication Professionals are the signatories to the statement. Predatory publishing poses a threat to personal researchers' reputations as well as to the integrity of the medical literature itself and is a phenomenon that anyone who publishes the results of research needs to be aware of.
